On a late winter afternoon, Reene & Ankur set out to shoot some "spring time" engagement shots... I think we managed to get a few great ones even though it was 30 degrees out and there was snow on the ground! Reene and Ankur are some of the toughest people I know! It takes a certain type of bravery to be out taking engagement shots in a sleeveless shirt in 30 degree weather!
We started out by the American Pharmacists Association building near the national mall, which was very fitting since Ankur is a Pharmacist! We started with traditional portraits with the bright sun and trees in the background, then played around with some backlit piggy back shots.
It's never too cold for a piggyback ride! These are some of my favorite photos from the session!
Both Reene and Ankur were really interested in getting some shots with the monuments in the background. It's a short walk from the American Pharmacists Association over to the Lincoln memorial and on our way we took advantage of a puddle someone left laying around.
The Lincoln made a gorgeous backdrop. We stopped on the North side for a few sitting shots with the monument in the background. We then moved up to the columns to try to take a handful of creative environmentals. Before moving on, we stopped by the South side which was being illuminated by the golden sun and took some sunset shots.
We managed to catch a gorgeous sunset with the river frozen over at the Memorial Bridge. We had a great time! Next time it will hopefully be a bit warmer!
